Alternative route...
In 2021, a medical break led me to discover my passion for jewelry through online training. Guided by Caroline Rivière, a Quebec jeweler, I learned the essential basics of jewelry making, and it was the beginning of a true creative adventure, my alternate path...
With the goal of infusing my creations with an identity of my own, I participated in Susan Lenart Kazmer's six-month "Intentional Metalsmithing " program, enriched by her "Unfolding" workshops and live interactive program. These formative experiences helped me forge a distinctive style and infuse each piece with a personal touch.
To expand my skills, I explored techniques such as metal patinas, cold enameling, and acid etching. However, I decided against using them due to safety and environmental concerns.
In 2023, I began using the lost-wax casting technique, creating my first bracelet from cast brass after over 70 hours of work. I then put this method on hold to focus on other aspects of jewelry making.
At the beginning of 2024, I joined the Metalsmith Academy led by Lucy Walker, where I learned advanced setting techniques, including octopussy and mass settings. Driven by a commitment to ecology, I also followed an online course with Matthieu Cheminé at Ateliers du Bijou Contemporain, where I explored the art of punching in all its forms, thus seeking an ecological way to engrave and texture metal.
I specialize primarily in silver work, captivated by its color and patina over time. For my creations, I acquire fine stones from certified gemologists in France, a renowned stone cutter in Indonesia, and recently, an exceptional Australian lapidary specializing in opal cutting. My creations are stamped with my master's mark and certified by French Customs when they exceed 30 grams.
Each piece of jewelry I create is unique, taking shape around the selected stones and symbols. Handcrafted, they require between 10 and over 70 hours of work, each piece constituting a universe in itself, telling a unique story.
In a constant quest for evolution, I had the honor of receiving the title of Artisan d'Art from the Chamber of Trades of Loire-Atlantique during the winter of 2024, a distinction which stimulates my creativity and my commitment to my art.
My creations are not just jewelry, but works of art in their own right. They tell a story, a thought process, and each piece is a unique reflection of my artistic vision.
